An iconic piece of mid-century American military clothing, this authentic 1950s U.S. Army M-51 Field Jacket features the classic olive green colorway, original military insignia, and a removable M-1951 liner.

Introduced in 1951 during the Korean War, the M-51 represented an important evolution in American military outerwear, succeeding the M-43 and preceding the M-65. Designed to provide protection against cold and wet weather, it features a durable 9 oz wind-resistant cotton sateen shell, concealed zipper and button-front closure, four large flap pockets, adjustable button cuffs, and waist and hem drawstrings.

This example retains its original HAYS name tape, U.S. Army chest tape, and blue triangular shoulder insignia, alongside its removable M-1951 field jacket liner. The liner features a military specification label indicating a pattern date of July 9, 1953, a particularly interesting detail reflecting the evolution of U.S. military cold-weather clothing during the Korean War era.

Its naturally faded olive green fabric, original military markings, and subtle signs of wear give the jacket an authentic vintage character while preserving the functional silhouette that influenced generations of American military outerwear.

An essential piece for collectors of Korean War militaria, vintage U.S. Army clothing, and original mid-century American field jackets.
